Solar Flares rev. 2014

Program notes:

The Sun, the bringer of life can be looked upon from many angles. The orchestral piece Solar Flares is mainly an interpretation of the physical object, the sun with attempts to capture the image of the Corona, its structure and constant activity and transfer it into music.

I’ve been inspired by solar events such as Sunspots, Faculaes, and the Solar Wind that reaches far out in the Universe and most of all by Solar Flares, that has lent the piece its name and that can be violent jet ejections or smaller quicker flares and that sometimes make the most fantastic curves reminding of enormous handles.

My Sun, the dynamo in its most mature phase, is a positive force and life bringer. As an antithesis to this one can imagine a black hole, a dead sun, a destructive force that sucks the energy out of everything that comes its way.
